She had the most colorful eyes that he had run into
And when they looked up from the ground man they were beautiful
He wanted no more than to give her unconditional
Love and affection, the kind she'd never seen before
And she accepted him, hesitant at first
She felt she didn't deserve him, but all he'd want is her
He reassured he she's the reason why his world turned but with her history of pain it's hard to believe his words
He nave gave up, his intentions, they persisted
And after so long, he could no longer resist it
Her fragile mind said no, but her heart it would insist it
She couldn't help the tingles on her hand after he kissed it
They spent they're time together, but at home a different scene
She couldn't understand why her mother was so mean
She put her down and told her that she didn't mean a thing
If mom was different then she wouldn't bleed

And she went away
All those faces were to blame

And she went

She went and cried into his arms
Told him all the hurtful things that she took from her moms
And he said "don't you be alarmed.
As long as I'm around you, you will never feel harm"
And she said "how, you aren't there all the time?"
He said "I'm not but I can always try"
She said "You don't know all the crazy things about my life, the ugly things that make me wanna die!"
Her uncle he'd get drunk and he'd try to touch and hug her
And the one that's supposed to protect her says not to struggle
"He's our support system baby don't cause any trouble"
"Just close your eyes and he'll be over baby on the double"
She wished she could escape, find herself a different scene
A place where she was safe from the ugly and the mean
a place where she was treasured and she'd always mean a thing,
a different place where she would never bleed

And she went away

She went away it's been some days
Her mother didn't care that she had gone and left no trace
Some mail had arrived at his place
And what he read in this letter put tears upon his face
She said that everything was find and how
people couldn't make cry now
And by the time he'd read this letter she'd be long gone and not to feel bad because it wasn't his fault
"I'd never felt love til you came into my life
and you're the reason that for this long I stayed alive"
"I wanted desperately to stay for ever by your side,
but I guess I had already made up my mind"
"Just know that I will always love you till the end of days"
"You were only peace and calm inside the disarray"
"I hope that you and I can be together one day and you understand why I went away"

And she went away
